The operating problem

Metering alone does not create energy management. Without clear boundaries, equipment relationships and data quality, reports show consumption but cannot explain abnormal use, equipment efficiency or what control setting should change.

The objective

For energy management, Kimma connects submetering and data validation with trend analysis, operational changes and verification. Consumption is read alongside equipment state, load, weather, schedules and setpoints.

How the system works

  1. Build a reliable metering hierarchy and validate multipliers, timestamps, missing values and flow direction.
  2. Relate consumption to plant, pump and air-system states, load and efficiency indicators to identify out-of-hours use, abnormal baseload and poor staging.
  3. Turn confirmed findings into controlled schedule, setpoint or sequence changes, then compare like-for-like data before retaining or revising the action.

The practical outcome

The result is an operational method rather than a reporting archive. Anomalies have evidence, equipment performance can be compared, and each control change has a traceable before-and-after review.
